My DJ career started out in Nov 1969 at UKC Radio in Canterbury.
I stayed there for over 4 years at the same time doing mobile discos on campus and in East Kent until I was invited to take over the residency of the Soundhouse Disco (Hawkinge) in May 1973 for fourteen months.

At the age of 60 I then took up the mobile work again and I have since done many wedding receptions, birthdays, retirement parties and also some corporate work.
I was an avid fan of offshore radio and American radio from the 60’s and early seventies. I never lost any interest in music and have built up a huge knowledge of music going back 90 years. My speciality genres are US, UK and Dutch top 40 of the Sixties plus Northern Soul, Mod music, and Disco (70’s – early 80’s) .
As a DJ I also actively follow current trends too.
I believe that the future of local radio is community radio.
I care about local issues and look forward to helping strengthen the community spirit in Whitstable.

I am West Kent boy with family roots in Thanet. I was born and grew up in Brasted, a small village between Sevenoaks and Westerham, famed for its antique shops. I’m a graphic artist by profession, an alumnus of Ravenbourne, but now trying to retire!

Growing up in the 60s and 70s gave me a wide range of musical tastes, despite this I still take an interest in the current though not necessarily chart scene. Between approximately 1984 and 2004 I co-ran the successful Starfire Roadshow mobile disco operating throughout the South East and South London. During this time, we also provided roadshows for Hospital Radio Tunbridge Wells and Invicta Radio. I have also presented for my friend’s radio station, Stones Live.
I moved to Whitstable some 20 years ago and have been involved in local events and societies ever since including a spell as Scout Leader for the Swalecliffe Group.
Happily settled with a beautiful and clever lady and 2 ever-hungry cats.
